UNI EN 13761 - VISITORS’ CHAIR
Definition: single chair used in an office context in addition to the work chair. The visitors chair is used for meetings or consultations, or for activities like reading, writing and waiting.
This standard was approved by CEN – the European Standards Centre – on 28 July 2002. The UNI EN 13761:2002 standard is the official version in Italian of the European Standard EN 13761 which defines dimensions and safety requirements visitors chairs must have. The requirements regarding dimensions are applicable to chairs for relaxation. Conformity with the standard means that the chair has passed a series of “resistance” tests, that it could satisfy the “design and safety” requirements, that it falls within the dimensions laid down and that it is sold displaying “information for use and maintenance”.
